I’m so tired of the debate, allow me to set the record straight

Put your over-active mind at ease

Yes I know what I know, this life has taught a lot of (so many) things

I don’t want you to need me, you can take me or leave me

Yes I am who I am

 

Grew up back and forth between Dallas and New Orleans

Had more parents than I could count on all extremities

Got me four siblings, two dudes and two dames

And between the five of us we’ve got three different last names

 

46 homes in 40-something years

I love a good martini, but Honey, you can keep your beer

Fascinated by forensics, my soul belongs to performing arts

Either way you cut it, it’s all about the heart

 

Grudges I can hold ‘em and stupid people really piss me off

Each and every day I grieve for the many loved ones I have lost

Not as tough as I put on, wear my heart down on my sleeve

I call it exactly how I see it, it ain’t my fault if you can’t see

 

Love so very deeply but rarely let myself be loved

Deep fried passion for food, and don’t agree with what’s above

Deathly afraid to fly, afraid to fall, and no sense of direction

Quick to temper, take things too personal, no damn good with affection

 

Stumble over my words so much that I’m almost always misunderstood

I’ve made being stoic an art form, but my integrity is good

Introverted, a bit perverted, like keeping it simplistic

And if you haven’t guessed by now, I am completely narcissistic

 

I am who I am, what you get is what you see

I don’t set out to deceive, I can’t help what you perceive

I know what I know, yes I've learned a lot (so many) of things

I don’t care if you believe me, you can take me or leave me
