When Love Is A Lie
1991
Did you think I wouldn’t notice when you walked in through the door
That you’d been out on the town
Did you think I couldn’t see how you were programmed to deceive
Well honey, I can tell you’ve been messing around
Baby I’m not that blind, and I’m not the kind
To forgive you for this spiteful thing you’ve done
So if you think you’ll get away with my heart, boy, there’s no way
I’m taking it back right now, I’m long gone
Like a shot in the dark, arrow through the heart
Running like a bandit in the night
I’m takin back the trust you left standing in the dust
I think you’ll find it all comes back in time
When love is a lie what comes around goes around
When love is a lie
So she’s everything to you, but you want my lovin’ too
Well, love is nothing I can give for free
What you take for granted now will get back to you somehow
And you’re not gonna get the best of me
Like a shot in the dark, arrow through the heart
Running like a bandit in the night
And I’m takin back the trust you left standing in the dust
I think you’ll find it all comes back in time
When love is a lie what comes around goes around
When love is a lie
My boyfriend cheated on me. I learned while he was away on business that it had occured. The worst part about it is that it had happened right under my nose. I was angry and hurt. In the end I forgave him and we worked it out. That pure trust in him I had though, that never came back. I hated that most of all.
