What She Needs

  1997

Sittin’ on the front step figuring,  ‘Oh, what the heck’

Her baby-boys asleep in the back

Six-pack at her feet, watchin’ cars go down the street

And smokes herself a little crack

Stoned but trying to look straight, homeboy just a little late

Puts her cigarette out on the ground

EPT back positive, her welfare life alternative

And it looks like he wont be coming around

I don’t think it’s fair, she says, how the whole world turned on me

But what goes around, comes around eventually, yeah yeah yeah yeah

What she needs is a good hard look around

What she gets she only does it to herself

What she wants is to put the blame on everyone else

Well I don’t need her mental

Back seat of the squad car, pushed the booze a little hard

Got busted driving drunk again

Doesn’t have the bread to pay, rehab don’t work anyway

She’ll do her 90 days in the pen

Husband left her years ago, couldn’t take it anymore

She wouldn’t turn her life around straight

But she’s still hanging out and holding on, cant stand that hes moving on

Her attitudes a little irate

I don’t think it’s fair, she says, how the whole world turned on me

But what goes around, comes around eventually, yeah yeah yeah yeah

What she needs is a good hard look around

What she gets she only does it to herself

What she wants is to put the blame on everyone else

Well I don’t need her mental

Packed and moved to Michigan to start her life over again

She wont be getting her son back

Still has warrants to this day, cant go back there anyway

So she smokes herself a little crack

What she needs is a good hard look around

What she gets she only do unto herself

What she wants is to put the blame on everyone else

Well I don’t need her mental

This is a true story that I think pretty much tells itself.
