Rheadiculous
"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."
--Aristotle
Drama Queen
2008
Friendship is a valuable thing, she says
As she draws a fine line to judge it
Dangling her friends on strings
A puppeteer and all her puppets
If we’re defined by honor, she says
Then to me, my dear, you’re nothing
She’ll cut the strings just to watch you falter
Then turn to blame you for it
You damaged my calm, she screams
I just need, attention, give it to me
Me me me
These words you say will fill you full of sorrow
But it’s too late to turn back now and beg for what you’ve borrowed
I live in my own real world, she says
And I will grant you right to linger
It’s true, she will treat you fondly
Long as your wrapped around her little finger
You don’t know what real a friend is, she says
As her world revolves around her
Such a shame, when she is done projecting
There’ll be no one left to hear her
You damaged my calm, she screams
I just need, attention, give it to me
Me me me
These words you say will fill you full of sorrow
But it’s too late to turn back now and beg for what you’ve borrowed
No, no, no, no
Too bad, so sad
You want what you can’t have
But that blame, you pour it on others like rain
What? All lonely on that shelf? You put in on yourself, girl
Oh, the life of a drama queen aint easy
This was written after a fight with a friend. We stumbled upon differences and the friendship became the type of toxic friendship that I no longer wished to be included in. Their ranting inspired what is one of my favorite works of funk/rock art.
