"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."

Down The Line
1991
How long you gonna make me sit on that sofa
You must think I got a lot of time
But I aint gonna sit round here to hear that phone ring in my ear
So baby you just move on down the line
You know those love letters really had me going
They’d get me so hot I could almost fry
I aint got no time to play those games, a good cold shower kills the flames
So baby you just move on down the line
I bought you a one way ticket
And darlin you are running out of time
Gonna board you on a train to my heartache
Unless you make up your mind to let me ride
Well you know that you really had me going
But the waiting only makes me sit and pine
So rather than sit back and complain Im gonna make you board that train
Kiss you off with my love and watch you ride
You know there’re lot of fishes in the ocean
And boy my hook’s a baited line
So if you aint gonna tug on me, remove that hook and set me free
And baby you just move on down the line
I think I hear a train whistle blowing
And darlin you are running out of time
Gonna board you on that train out of my life
Unless you make up your mind to let me ride
Now you know that you really had me going
But the waiting only makes my poor heart cry
So rather than sit back and complain Im gonna board you on that train
Kiss you off with my love and watch you ride
Stupid fun! That is what this song was. I was performing in a country band in Japan. I needed a county song. Voila!! This is a hokey, silly, fast paced, old-school country song! Stupid, but catchy and fun! Seriously, it is almost embarassing to perform.
